CAMPAIGN

Campaign is P&B’s largest and most extant group. The campaign group consists foldable and transportable fixtures and, due to its historicism, is easily distinguished from its counterparts. The group is grounded in history in at least two respects: on the one hand it encapsulates the evolution of the P&B product from the outset and on the other it incorporates into its development explicit historical allusions. With clear references to the Gregorian-Victorian tradition of campaign furniture, defined as it were by its use among high ranking overseas military officials, a central feature of the campaign group is its intricate combination of locks, corners, belts, rivets, and wooden frames, which together provide fixtures a “knock-down” utility.
